So I'm averaging like one update every 3 weeks... oh well.  Went to my first sox game of the 2005 season tonight and it was alright.  They lost, like they usually do whenever I go to a game, but there was still some good offense.  Damon had a great night, should help me out in my fantasy league, and v-tek had a sweet homer over the monster.  Some guy in the ninth inning stripped off his shirt, hopped the left field fence, and started running across the field too.  What made this hilarious is that the guy weighed at least 350 pounds and had huge man-boobs floppin alllllll over the place.  So that got a pretty big ovation from the fans that were still there.  Anyway, I'll probably try and hit up a game on wednesday this week too, maybe get some standing room tickets.

Oh, another weird thing happened today too... when I was down in Quincy with my group taking some pictures of the schools I worked at this past term, some paranoid lady wrote down the license plate of the car we were in and reported it to the police.  So they track the number and call my friend's dad trying to figure out what was going on.  Then my friend had to deal with calling our sponsor who is the head of the DPW in Quincy, and try to sort everything out.  But yeah, interesting to say the least.

I'll try and find some pictures to put up here eventually. I am off for now. Lata.

Well, I got my MQP for next year (it's a graduation requirement for those of you who don't go to WPI).  Here's the basic overview, sounds pretty cool I guess even though it wasn't my first choice.  Anyway, at least I'll be working with a grad student who knows what's going on.

DESIGN AND TESTING OF A LARGE FLEXIBLE SPACE STRUCTURE

Students will design and build a scaled down version of a large flexible space panel. The choice, number and placement of the sensing and actuating devices (accelerometers and piezoceramic patches) will be integrated in the early design stages. This MQP project is part of an ongoing NSF-supported research and students will work closely with the graduate student who is currently working on the numerical predictions for the panel dimensions and location of sensors and actuators. The goals of this project are to (i) build a frame for an Aluminum thin plate and incorporate the sensors and actuators on the plate, (ii) test the vibration characteristics of the panel simulating various operating conditions in space, using a dSPACE data acquisition and control system. This project fulfills a student's Capstone Design requirement.

Yep, the culmination of 4 years of classes.  Doesn't really seem too impressive does it.

Heh.... no update in almost a month... I've been in Boston for a couple weeks so far, and things are going pretty well.   I work monday-thursday 9-5 and then have a 3 day weekend for the most part, since fridays only consist of a few hours of presentations.  It hasnt really been too exciting to be here, the apartments are pretty nice and theres plenty of things to do around the city, but it's not too fun to be 20 without an ID =(    Got some sox tickets for the 25th of april though, can't wait for that.  I'll probly go to a few more games and get standing room tickets too.  Other than that, not too much else going on, I'm already looking forward to finishing up this whole project and getting home for the summer.

Hope you all had a good Easter weekend. Later.

I got a job for the summer!

I will be working at the fluid dynamics lab at WPI for June and July, so I will get to live in Worcester for the summer too.  Plus I signed the lease for an apartment the other day and I can move in at the end of May.  Things should work out pretty good I think, and the experience I get from this internship should really help me out next year when I graduate.  One less thing for me to worry about now.
